take a shot

Take the Shot!

You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.” ― Wayne Gretzky

I am a Norwegian calling Norway and can’t speak Norwegian in order to talk with magazine editors to promote my client’s book.

One more time. A Norwegian calling Norway but can’t speak Norwegian. How was I supposed to make the connection?

Listen to Your Heart When Others are Pulling You Apart

Tim Tebow

“You’re terrible.”  “You don’t have the skills for this job.” “You should have never been chosen for this position.”  “You will never make it here.”

Have you ever heard anyone say these things to you?  Tim Tebow has.
Whether you are a football fan or not I am sure by now you have heard the name Tebow.

Tebow was the #1 draft pick by the Denver Broncos. When that decision was made the noise and chatter began. It seemed everyone was beyond skeptical. All the sports reporters and analysts made it clear Tebow should not have been drafted and he was a terrible quarterback. All the naysayers continued to grind this guy into the ground.

Growing a 5-Star Business

Chef William Bradley

Chef William Bradley is surprisingly unassuming.

As he sits down in the richly decorated and dimly lit bar of The Addison restaurant in Del Mar, California, Bradley is completely relaxed and comfortable.

One might assume that the driving force behind Southern California’s only 5-Diamond / 5-Star restaurant would be stuffy, temperamental, or even arrogant.

Bradley is none of those.

He is easy to communicate with, quick to laugh and very appreciative of his staff. He is also young, driven…and superbly business-minded.

Leading with a Low Profile

“A leader is best when people barely know that he exists.”
~Witter Bynner

There is an invisible leader.

One who directs over 50,000 professionals globally.

One who runs an organization that has been in existence for 25 years and is among the most respected in its field.

This organization has grown hugely in scope and vision under the leader’s reign and yet – few know that the leader exists. What they do know, however, is that that his style works.

This invisible leader? Scott Goudeseune, President and CEO of the nonprofit American Council on Exercise (ACE), one of the largest fitness certification, educational and training organizations in the world.
